This weekend I made up Graham Cracker Houses for my Daisy Girl Scouts to decorate with Candy for our Christmas Party.
Yesterday I let my other two girls use the two leftover houses. I had never attempted any sort of houses, gingerbread or graham cracker. It was not quite as easy as all the pictures look, but they had a lot of fun with it.
I promised my girls we would do a big house out of real gingerbread before Christmas. (Not sure when we are going to fit that in??)
Even though it was a little tricky to get the houses to stay together. I would recommend this project for Christmas fun.

We’re going to decorate a gingerbread house too. We’re going to use the pre-made kit and add our own decorations. This is to save Mommy some stress. Then maybe we can all enjoy it!! Brent picked up the kit at Sam’s Club, but I think I saw something similar at Alco. . . and adding your own decorations instead of the ones provided kind of “make it your own”. I’ve made graham cracker houses before, but not real gingerbread ones. They turned out really cute and Jeff had a lot of fun with it.
I made a gingerbread house with my youngest sisters last year and we all had so much fun! We did use a kit because I’m just not crafty enough to make one myself…haha!
Your pictures are adorable!! We’ve been making gingerbread houses every year since 1992. My kids are getting older now and don’t need as much help. I thought my 6th grade son might not be interested this year. He was the one who found them at the store and put them in the cart. This is such a great tradition ll!!!
